At Music Makers, we believe music is for everyone, and that includes people big and small! Introduce your little one to the joy of music with our new group: Mini & Me Music Makers. This interactive class is designed for toddlers ages 18 months – 4 years old and their grown-ups to explore music together in a fun, engaging, and nurturing environment. Musical Growth

Music plays a key role in early childhood development. It enhances language skills, social development, and emotional growth. Toddlers will improve motor skills, coordination, and listening abilities while having fun. Plus, caregivers get to bond with their little ones through shared musical experiences.

How it Works How it Works

How it Works

Mini and Me Music Makers is a 45 minute experience of musical fun and learning for you and your little one. Together you will explore musical elements such as rhythm, volume, patterns, listening skills, instrument familiarity, and so much more. Not only will your mini be building a musical foundation, but we will also be using music to develop other age appropriate skills such as body movement, fine motor practice, social/emotional learning, sign language, color recognition, counting, and more!

At your first class, you’ll get a starter kit that includes all the materials you will need for class. You can also use it to continue the fun at home with our class playlist–available on Apple or Spotify!

Why Choose Mini & Me

In this class you are an active participant with your mini(s)! Many of the activities will encourage intentional interactions between you and your mini as well as interaction with other friends in the class. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics Research demonstrates that developmentally appropriate play with parents [guardians/caretakers] and peers is a singular opportunity to promote the social-emotional, cognitive, language, and self-regulation skills that build executive function and a prosocial brain. Furthermore, play supports the formation of the safe, stable, and nurturing relationships with all caregivers that children need to thrive.”

There are so many tasks and things to do throughout your day that it can be hard to pause and make space to intentionally play with your little ones. Participating in a class like ‘Mini and Me’ creates that moment for you and takes the pressure off to create the perfect play scenario. We have so much silliness and engaging activities prepared for you and your mini(s) to connect, learn, and grow together!

Additionally, many studies over the years have shown that music exposure at an early age is very beneficial for child development. Frontiers in Psychology saysMusic interventions are often said to have an influence on motor, language, social, cognitive, and academic abilities. Music may play an important role in meeting a child’s educational needs as it provides a means of self-expression, giving the child an outlet for feelings and emotions. Music, aside from being a source of enjoyment, is also a means of communication with others. Music may expose the child to challenges and multi-sensory experiences which enhance learning abilities and encourage cognitive development. In particular, music can also engage cognitive functions, such as planning, working memory, inhibition, and flexibility.”

Can I schedule a demo for this group?

Due to the nature of the group class for toddlers, we are not offering demos for this group. However, we recommend you contact us to schedule a tour of our studio and meet our teacher to get an idea of what group will be like.

Is this class only for parents and their children?

We intentionally called this class ‘Mini & Me’ as it is suited for any adult/child pairing. Whether you are a grandma/grandpa, aunty/uncle, dad/mom, adult sibling, foster-parent, guardian, caregiver, nanny, godparent, or other important adult in a child’s life, you can have a fun and memorable experience with the small human you care for.

If I (the adult) can’t make it to the class, can another adult bring my mini?

Yes, adults can swap out their spot with another adult as needed. However, the mini listed on the account is the only child allowed to use that spot.

Ex: If aunty and mini are signed up to take the class together, and aunty has a work emergency, grandma can bring mini to class and participate as the adult for that pair. *Please note that the substitute adult must participate in the class with the mini.
